Technology Innovation Centre for Advanced Software Engineering (TICASE)

Basic information - Intel Technology Innovation Center for Advanced Software Engineering (iTICASE) is envisioned as a technology transfer bridge between research, education, and businesses in the area of multicore technology and multiprocessors parallel computing. It is mainly impelled by the mission of Bulgarian Institute for Management and Technology (BIMT), which is to bridge the gap between industry qualification needs and presently available education. The iTICASE was opened by Intel Education, the Institute for Mathematics and Informatics (IMI) with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and BIMT. The centre is seen to:

  • Serve as an efficient bridge between universities, companies and public organizations
  • Help Bulgarian universities adjust their curriculum to the market needs
  • Launch joint programs between leading international and Bulgarian education institutions, technological parks and public structures
  • Provide turn-key training solutions to technology business companies ‘on demand' by shortening the time and distance to the qualified workforce pool

The goal of iTICASE is to create a working environment of advanced highly sophisticated hardware architecture, which will match those in the industrially developed countries. It is expected that by offering the necessary working environment to the research institutions and the current businesses, they will collaborate thus helping transform the theoretical knowledge of multicore computing to advanced software applications, which in turn will raise the overall competitiveness of the Bulgarian ICT industry on the European and global markets.
